General Hunting Tips

Weapon Integrity – Use the correct weapon or the pelt downgrades.
Rifle ≠ Repeater
Craft small-game arrows for tiny animals.
Scout First – Binoculars + study to confirm 3-star before shooting.
Map Efficiency – Plan a loop; animal icons are reliable spawn zones.
Audio Cues – Learn each animal’s call; they announce when spawned.
Save Before Predators – Especially cougar & panther; reload if star rating fails.

Extra Hints & Pro Advice

Legendary Buck Trinket – Hunt the Legendary Buck (NW of Strawberry) first; craft its trinket at a fence to raise pelt quality forgiveness.
Cougar Farming – North of Lake Owanjila: camp, sleep till evening, ride the western path north then loop back south; reload save until 3-star.
Panther Spot – South of Braithwaite manor (Old Harry Fen), dusk till night; use cover scent, watch your minimap for the red dot.
Storing Pelts – Hand perfect pelts to Pearson (camp cook) as you go; he keeps them safe until you craft.
On-Horseback Deer – With the trinket you can auto-aim gallop into herds; if it drops from 3-star to 2-star still skin it—often yields perfect pelt.
